About this place
Among the tempura at Yoshimura, diners have singled out the prawn for its crisp, light batter. The Ebi-ten Seiro pairs it with cold soba, making it a good choice when you want tempura alongside a bowl of noodles without losing sight of the soba. If you would rather make tempura the centre of a meal with rice on the side, there is also a Tempura Set, served with soba, a small side dish and rice. The soba can be ordered hot or cold.
For a simpler taste of soba, cold options include Zaru, Oroshi and Yamakake, topped with grated yam. The Tori-jiru Seiro, served with a chicken dipping broth, is another option if you want a cold soba dish with toppings. One diner said their soba came with shredded kelp and spring onion, and that the broth had a pronounced savoury flavour. Their meal also included tempura and rice with plum and shirasu, offering a variety of flavours alongside the noodles.
There are also meals that combine soba with rice bowls or other dishes. A diner who ordered an oyakodon with hot soba described the egg as soft-set, the noodles as springy and the broth as fragrant. The menu includes an Oyakodon Set Meal, as well as set meals served with soba, rice and a small side dish alongside filet cutlet or fried chicken. Soba is available hot or cold with these sets.
Some diners have also enjoyed sobayu, the hot water used to cook soba, after their meal. Lunch is served Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 14:30; the restaurant is closed on Sundays.
